Thanksgiving in California 2007

We spent a few days in California for Thanksgiving visiting Kate's Family.  We had a fun, relaxing time!  Thanks to Grandpa Ron and Grandma Roni for their hospitality!

Quinn's First Swimming Lesson!

Quinn had her first swim lesson and loved it!  As you can see her favorite part was lounging around in the "lazy river".  She is enrolled in the "Tiny Tots" class for six weeks and is going to be a super swimmer when she's done.  Both Quinn and Mommy had a super time!

Freeman's Farm Fall Festival

We just went to Freeman's Farm Fall Festival! Wow that's a lot of F's in one sentence! Anyway, we had a great time going on a hay ride, eating kettle corn, picking out a pumpkin to take home, and taking lots of fun pictures. Here are just a few. Happy Harvest! :)

Boo at the Zoo!

Today Me, "Uncle" Jeff. "Grandma" Cyndy and Quinn went to "Boo at the Zoo." The Zoo is all decked out for Halloween and there are stations set up to "trick or treat".

Quinn joined the animals and sported her Giraffe costume. It was very cute. She enjoyed getting candy as well. The first place she "trick or treated" at she reached in the bag and pulled out the candy and put it in her mouth!

Quinn also loved the animals as well. It is way cute to see how she loves them more and more each time we go. When she saw the bear she got really excited and started barking like a dog! It was really funny! She is still trying to work out the animals sounds!

Today is Joe's Birthday!!

Today is Joe's birthday. He turned 29 today, his last year of being in his twenties. It is hard to believe he is going to be 30 next year! Time is going by so fast. We had a fun low-key day for his birthday. We had cake last night with Uncle Jeff, today we went to Quinn's friend's birthday party, had dinner at Old Bag of Nails and then watched a movie. It was fun!

Our Weekend in California

Thanks to Skybus, Quinn and I were able to take a quick trip to Ca this past weekend. My sister and brother both had their birthdays and we were able to celebrate with them. Joe's family happened to be there that weekend too and we got to spend Sunday morning and Monday together. Quinn also got to visit with her friend's Julianna and Sophia! We had a great time. It was just too fast! The flights were good and Quinn enjoyed listening to music on the way there. Here are some pictures of our trip.

Quinn had her birthday on Thursday and she is ONE! We had a very fun party in the park. She loved her cake! We can not believe how fast the year went by!

The Ohio State Fair

On Sunday we went to the Ohio State Fair with our friends. It was sooo hot! We enjoyed eating fair food and walking around. There was a huge cow made of butter, pig races, and ANIMALS! Quinn LOVED the goats! She just grabbed the head as soon as she saw it! It was soooo cute. We had a great time and Quinn was pooped afterwards.

Quinny recently painted for the first time!  She painted a personalized birthday card for her Grandpa Hyle.  Happy birthday Grandpa!  Fun, fun, fun!

Today Quinn and I helped our friends pack a moving truck. They are going to Michigan. Corey is going to train to be an airplane mechanic. After their training they are going overseas. Corey is going to work on planes so that missionaries can fly and spread the Gospel to unreached places. Some exciting stuff! 

Something else that was exciting for Quinn was that she got to pretend to ride a motorcycle. She cried when I took her off!

Quinn Stood in her Crib all by herself!

I went to get Quinn after her nap and there she was standing in her crib! She pulled herself up for the first time in her crib. Earlier she pulled herself up in the bath tub. She is catching on quickly to this standing thing!

Look at our Garden Grow!

Our vegetable garden is growing like crazy! We have been able to eat a cucumber, tomatoes, and peppers (very spicy). We thought it would be amusing to see the huge squash that has come from this garden.

Quinn and Finger Foods

Quinn is pretty much past the baby food stage and is eating all sorts of "people" food. This is a picture of her trying eggs for the first time. They are a hit! Some of her other favorites are turkey, avacado, pickles, rice cakes, green beans, refried beans, and mashed potatos! 

Happy 4th of July!

We had a nice fourth of July. We hung out with family and friends. After hamburgers and dessert we went to a friend's to set off fireworks. They were a little loud for Qunniy! There were so many going off in different directions that she got nervous. But, after awhile she calmed down and then she fell asleep on PaPa. The grown-ups set off all sorts of fireworks. We had a blast!

We Arrived in Texas!!!

We left Ohio June 30th and drove to Indiana to attend Aaron and Stephanie's wedding (which was so beautiful) and then drove through the night to Texas. Jeff came with us and he drove 10 hours!!! Kate drove about 4 and then Jeff picked up the last 45 minutes. We made it to Texas at 10 Sunday morning. The drive wasn't as bad as we anticipated and Quinn did wonderful! We are enjoying our time visiting our family and the cousins are having a blast hanging out together! This is a picture of their matching outfits Aunt Karen got them.

Quinn Loves Swimming!

Today Quinn went swimming at Jonna and Natalie's house for the first time in a "big" pool. She loved the water and loved kicking in it. She also road in a floaty that she loved floating around in. And she was very brave and even let Mommy dunk her in the water! 

Creation Museum

Quinn and Kate recently went to the Creation Museum in Kentucky with Friends and had a great time! There was so much to look at and read. The Museum does a great job explaining how God created the Universe. There are several really neat exhibits to look at. Everyone should take a trip when they can! Quinn's 9 Month Appointment

Today was Quinn's 9 month appointment. She now weighs 15.12lbs and is 27 and 1/4 inches long. The doctor says she looks great and seems to be delveoping wonderfully. Praise God! This is her new "silly face."

Quinn's First Trip To Urgent Care

A little more than two weeks ago Quinny had her first trip to Children's Hospital Urgent Care. Just before her and mommy's trip to California we had planned a cookout for our neighbors. During the cookout Quinn was acting a bit unusual. She seemed very sleepy and lethargic. It turns out she was extrememly nautious. We realized this when she hurled all over daddy who was holding her. It turned out she had an ear infection. This is a picture of her holding her mini bed pan in case she gets sick again. She got lots of meds and made it to California the very next day. It is a blessing that in the first eight months of her life this was her first time getting sick!

This is the first post and we are excited to share what is going on in our family. This is a recent picture of Quinn. She is almost nine months old and can stand, army crawl, wave "hi" and "bye-bye," feed herself, drink from a sippy cup, say "Da-Da," and I am sure more to come before we know it!
